I want to do a built-in barbecue in my backyard. What is involved?.

We determine whether a client wants (a) a built-in barbecue to simply cook at, or (b) an outdoor kitchen with additional appliance to do complete meals in the open air, or (c) a complete outdoor entertaining area with counters and everything to bring the entertaining experience outdoors.

Can I build any barbecue into a BBQ island?
No, for safety reasons, every barbecue that is intended to be built-in must undergo strict testing and an approval process before bring certified as a built-in unit. At Pristine, we offer only those units that have passed these stringent codes, documentation and certification. Safety is our primary concern. Care must be taken with the materials to use in the built-in grill. There are minimum clearances to combustible materials that must be considered. The trained staff at Pristine will gladly help in this process.
Why are built-in barbecues so expensive?
An outdoor cooking area is an investment. Outdoor built-in barbecues and appliances must be built to withstand the rigors of exposure year round to the elements. In the case of a BBQ grill, the unit will subjected to high temperatures with the hot fat drippings from the food falling onto the internal elements.
Therefore, majority of these items are made of commercial grade stainless steel.
Manufactures support their products with extensive warranties.
All outdoor approved appliances must be certified and approved for such use. An American (and Canadian) Gas Association approval and an UL (Underwriters Laboratory) listing are considered as mandatory for this purpose.
All of these circumstances add to the costs of manufacture.
